JACKSON, Miss. — Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre is tossing financial support to the congressional incumbent in his Mississippi home district.
Federal Election Commission records show Favre and his wife, Deanna, each gave $2,400 to the campaign of Democratic U.S. Rep. Gene Taylor.
The contributions were made in November 2009, and the Favres are among Taylor’s most generous contributors.
Brett Favre grew up in Kiln, which is near Taylor’s home in Bay St. Louis. The Favres have a home near Hattiesburg, also in Taylor’s district.
Taylor has been in Congress since 1989. He faces Republican Steven Palazzo and the Reform Party’s Anna Jewel Revies in the Nov. 2 general election.
