Kyle William Damberg, 47, of Duluth, passed away as a result of a work-related accident on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010.
Kyle was born in Duluth on May 14, 1963, to Bertel and Elizabeth Damberg.
Kyle graduated from Duluth East High School in 1981 and Lake Superior College in 1986, majoring in Mechanical Drafting.
Kyle was united in marriage to Karen Duncan on Aug. 4, 1988, in Duluth. They were blessed with two sons, Matthew and Michael. Kyle was a longtime dedicated employee of Minnesota Power, where he worked in Engineering Services as a designer for over 20 years. He was an outstanding fast pitch softball player in the Woodland Fast Pitch League. He was very active as a coach for his sons in the Woodland Hockey Program, the Lake Park Little League team and Duluth East traveling teams for many years.
Kyle was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.
Kyle was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend. His family was always his first priority. He loved being outdoors and had the ability to fix or build anything.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Survivors include his loving wife, Karen, and their sons, Matthew and Michael; his mother, Elizabeth Damberg; father, Bertel (Nancy) Damberg; his sisters, Kim (Greg) Heiser; Lynette (Charles) Hutchinson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Patricia Duncan; brother-in-law, Jeff (Ann) Duncan, and many other family and friends.
Visitation: Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, from 5-7 p.m. with wake prayers at 7 p.m. in the Dougherty Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Kenwood with a visitation one hour prior to the funeral in the church.

Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
