The Olde World Renaissance Faire comes to Twig this weekend, June 12-13 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

I took my kids to the fair last year with them not knowing what to expect, and they all deemed it pretty awesome. They were surprised by how much there was to do and see. There are children's games, actors, music, crafts and food, horses, jousting and other Renaissance-style tomfoolery. The woodsy setting is nice to walk around in, and people are in a funny, good mood. It's an easy place to spend the day.

Tickets are $12 a day for adults, $8 for seniors and children, free for ages 5 and younger. Wear costumes for a discount; weekend passes available.
