Winning is an award that everyone wants to achieve. But while babysitting, the babysitter isn’t the one that should be doing all the winning! Little kids can get really upset when they lose. Sometimes it’s hard to keep that under control when one wins and the other didn’t. But you know, as a babysitter, that you can keep your cool when you lose. That shouldn’t be hard right?
Like many others, I love Harry Potter. And once while I was babysitting my neighbors, the kids wanted to play Happy Potter Scene It, which is a good game, but bad timing because of course I wanted to win. And it’s so easy to win against little kids.
At first I answered all the questions and the kids were getting really upset. For some reason I couldn’t let them win but I soon realized that was a big mistake on my part. I held my tongue as they answered the questions much more slowly than I would have. But in order for the night to go smoothly, I had to let them win.
While babysitting, don’t win every race in Mario Kart or run faster just because you can. When you think about it, winning means a lot more to little kids. It’s not as if you are contending in the Olympics for a gold medal, you’re just babysitting. So remember than winning isn’t everything, especially when you’re competing with 5 year olds.
