“Kill shot! It’s a kill shot!”
Date Night, starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey was the epitome of “life after marriage”, with a curve ball. The couple, married with children, go out every week on “date night” to the same steak house, order the same thing and create scenarios with each other about various couples scattered in the restaurant. When things seem to be drabbing down, they go to a brand new seafood restaurant and steal a no-show reservation for the Triplehorn’s. The tale spiders from destination to destination, a quiet law abiding couple turn to the law-breaking necessities to stay alive and keep their children safe.
This movie was downright hilarious. I attended with my friend Nicole, and between bites of popcorn and pixie stick shots, both of us were crying, bellies aching from laughter (and maybe a little too much sugar).
It was entertaining and gripping through the whole movie, and while it would be a great movie to see on an actual date, it made our girls night just that much better. Four and a half paws out of five for Date Night.
