American super star ultra trail runner Scott Jurek stands second after 19 hours of his first 24-hour run -- the IAU 24-Hour Run World Championship in Brive, France. The event started Thursday and it is already Friday in France as Japan's Shingo Inoue, 30, leads with 138 miles completed. Jurek, 36, a Proctor native living in Seattle, has completed 133.3 miles.

A field of 229 elite ultramarathon runners are racing on a 1.25-kilometer loop, completing as many miles as possible in a 24-hour period.

     Live race updates available here.
