MINNEAPOLIS — Police at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport are investigating a report of a suspicious person at a Delta Air Lines building.
Airport officials say the man entered the building about 9 p.m. Tuesday and was confronted by a Delta employee who asked to see his badge. The man responded by holding out a stuffed animal and saying, “This is all you need to see.” Then he fled.
Airport police and Delta security officials searched for the man in and around the building, but did not find him. Police stepped up patrols around the building and the airfield, and they remained in place Tuesday.
Airport spokesman Patrick Hogan says police don’t believe the man got access to an adjoining maintenance hangar, but they brought in bomb-sniffing dogs to check planes before they left the hangar. They found no explosives.
Hogan says the incident had no effect on airport operations.
