Ignore an e-mail from duluthcommgarden@yahoo claiming to come from someone traveling in the United Kingdom needing the loan of $2,500.
“It’s definitely a scam,” Duluth Community Garden Program board member Kate Nicolette said.
The message, which doesn’t include a name but ends with “Best Regards, Duluth Community Garden Program,” purports to come from some traveling in the U.K. on a mission who lost his or her bag and passport.
“I will like you to help me with a loan of 2500 Dollars to pay my hotel bills and also return back home. I will refund the money to you as soon as I get back,” the message says.
“I just saw it myself,” Nicolette said. “I was shocked; I’ve never received one of those from anybody. I have no idea what the source is.”
