‘Pancakes Against Poverty!’
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1710 E. Superior St., will host the fund-raiser “Pancakes Against Poverty!” from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. Cost is $8.50 for adults and $5 for children. Call 726-1665.
Roast beef dinner
St. Josephat’s Polish National Catholic Church, 417 N. Third Ave. E., will serve a roast beef dinner — featuring Polish sweet-and-sour cabbage — at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25. Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12.
Asbury United Methodist Church, 6822 Grand Ave., will serve a meatball dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Cost is $8; take-out meals are available. Call 624-0061.
Halloween Fall Fest
Hillside Church, 201 E. First St. (in the Encounter building), will host its annual Fall Fest from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Friendly costumes are welcome. There will be games, treats and prizes and a winter clothing giveaway. Call 728-5500.
Lakeside Presbyterian, at the corner of McCulloch Street and 45th Avenue East, will host its Harvest Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.
Pork loin dinner
St. Elizabeth’s Church, 610 99th Ave. W., will hold a pork loin dinner and bake sale from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-12 and free for ages 5 and younger. Take-out meals available.
St. Benedict’s Church, 1419 St. Benedict St., will host a bingo fund-raiser at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. Cost is $5 for two cards; additional cards are 50 cents each. The church is sending six of its high school members on a pilgrimage. Call 724-4828.
Chester Park Church United Methodist Women’s Club is having its annual bazaar from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at 819 N. 18th Ave. E. Luncheon (from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) is $8 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12. Peruse the scrumptious bake sale, beautiful crafts and “theme basket” sale and a Dusty Cupboard.
St Francis Catholic Church, 31 County Road 1 in Carlton, will hold its annual fall bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, with bingo from 2 to 3 p.m. This year’s bazaar will feature a large silent auction, many raffle items, the “What's Cooking?” booth, kids games, a cake walk, baked goods, a country store, a pumpkin tree for adults and kids and more.
