Duluth beach's water-contact advisory removed

The water-contact advisory set for Boy Scout Landing Beach on Thursday has been removed after fecal indicator bacteria levels and averages returned to acceptable levels.
Water samples collected Wednesday at the beach, where Commonwealth Avenue meets the St. Louis River, contained elevated levels of E. coli bacteria.
Anyone who becomes ill after contact with beach water is asked to contact the Minnesota Department of Health at (877) 366-3455.
