Elevated E. coli levels at Duluth beach lead to advisory

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency today issued an advisory against water contact at the Boy Scout Landing Beach, where Commonwealth Avenue meets the St. Louis River.

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency today issued an advisory against water contact at a Duluth beach.

Water samples collected Wednesday the Boy Scout Landing Beach, where Commonwealth Avenue meets the St. Louis River, contain elevated levels of E. coli bacteria, indicating the possible presence of fecal contamination.

Anyone who becomes ill after contact with beach water is asked to contact the Minnesota Department of Health at (877) 366-3455.
