Swine flu cases in Wisconsin increase to five

A Department of Health Services spokesman said the Centers for Disease Control have confirmed positive cases in Ozaukee and Sheboygan counties.

MADISON — The number of confirmed swine flu cases in Wisconsin has increased to five.

State Public Health Officer Dr. Seth Foldy told the Assembly’s Public Health Committee today that the number of cases confirmed has gone up from three to five.

A Department of Health Services spokesman said the Centers for Disease Control have confirmed positive cases in Ozaukee and Sheboygan counties.

There were two previously confirmed cases in Milwaukee County and one in Adams County.

Foldy says there are 119 probable cases in Wisconsin and those likely will get confirmed in coming days.

Nationwide, the CDC says there were 403 confirmed cases and one death.
