ELEANOR A. SELENSKI

Eleanor A. Selenski, 73, of Sturgeon Lake, died Tuesday, Jan.

Eleanor A. Selenski, 73, of Sturgeon Lake, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 in St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth.

She was born Jan. 31, 1935 in Duluth to Martin and Hilda (Fauxvold) Anderson.

Eleanor was united in marriage to Donald Selenski on Sept. 15, 1956 in West Duluth.

Eleanor will forever be remembered for her kind heart, generosity and warm welcome to those who would visit at "The Lake". Her friends and family meant the world to her and she always had time for them. With a twinkle in her eye she would greet you with a sweet treat that she had baked most recently and entice a quick "hello" into a cup of coffee and an hour long chat. Despite her pain, she could make you laugh, make you feel loved and remind you that the weight of the world is not yours alone to bear. Her faithfulness was unyielding and was an example to us all.

She wore her many hats of Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Friend, Aunt, etc. proudly and pursued those roles with her gentle love and tenderness. For many reasons, she will be greatly missed here on earth, and welcomed with opened arms in the Kingdom of God.

Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents; son, Alan; four sisters, Agnes, Harriet, Margaret and Florence.

Eleanor is survived by her loving husband, Donald of Sturgeon Lake; two daughters, Janet (Greg) Bennett of Sturgeon Lake and Carol (Mike) Anderson of Sturgeon Lake; four grandchildren, Chris, Kylie and Mike Bennett and Elea Anderson; one brother, Arne (Mae) Anderson of Duluth; many precious nieces and nephews.
