A&E FYI: Duluth family competing in CBS singing contest

One Duluth family is getting a lot of attention these days. Doug and Sue Hatten, along with their children, 10-year-old Dylan and 7-year-old Jesse, are competing in the CBS Early Show Family Singing Contest.

From CBS’s Web site: “‘Apple Tree’ was written by Dylan and Jesse with help from their dad. Although Dylan is the only one playing an instrument, all of the Hattens play multiple instruments. ‘Apple Tree’ is usually with [Doug] on bass or guitar, but [he] has problems because of his chemo. [Doug] is currently on two weeks off from six months of cancer treatment. The family enjoys composing music together and have created quite a few very enjoyable songs.”
