Woman rescued after fall in Chester Creek ravine
Duluth firefighters had to use rope and basket rescue equipment to retrieve a 41-year-old woman who had fallen off the edge of a bank along Chester Creek and fell several feet into a ravine Tuesday night, according to a department spokesman.
Fire crews were called to the scene at 799 N. 15th Ave. East at approximately 6:50 p.m., after the victim had slipped near the water’s edge and fallen several feet. Firefighters had to use a Stokes basket rigging system to secure the injured woman’s body so that she could be lifted by rope up to an awaiting ambulance.
The woman, whose name was not released, was transported to St. Luke’s for treatment of her injuries. Her condition was not immediately available.
