West Duluth Business Club meeting features information on Neighborhood Youth Services
The next West Duluth Business Club’s monthly lunch meeting open to the public will feature a presentation about the efforts of Neighborhood Youth Services in the community.
The event is at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the banquet room of Mr. D’s Bar & Grill at 5622 Grand Ave. in West Duluth.
Jessica Schiff, a program coordinator of Neighborhood Youth Services, an off-site Woodland Hills program, will be on hand to talk about the outreach program
to help youths ages 6 through 17 have positive, life-changing experiences at no cost.
The program was started in 1992 as a hopeful place where Duluth youths could feel safe, have opportunities and feel a sense of belonging. It’s a voluntary resource for youths to develop assets and awareness while connecting with the community, friends and family.
Relying on gifts and grants, the program began as an effort to strengthen families and reduce risks that contribute to juvenile delinquency. Its focus has been in the Central Hillside and nearby areas.
To sign up for the luncheon, email email@example.com. Cost is the cost of lunch off the menu. The event typically lasts an hour.
