Thursday's weather for Duluth and the Northland: Mostly sunny

TODAY: High pressure pushes over Lake Superior and moves south toward Illinois throughout the day.  Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and a light southeast wind at 4-8 mph.  Highs are in the upper 70s.

FRIDAY: A low-pressure system will form over Montana and push east into the Dakotas, pumping in warmer air and more moisture for a 30 percent chance of afternoon storms.  Into the overnight period expect a 40 percent chance with lows in the mid-50s and highs near 80.

SATURDAY: The low-pressure system moves south and to the east of the Northland.  Morning lows are mild, near 61 and highs near 76.  Expect a 20 percent chance of some storms and more humidity in the air with partly cloudy skies.

SUNDAY: The low moves to the south and high pressure builds from the north.  We have lows near 57 and highs around 75 with partly cloudy skies.
