WILLMAR, Minn. — The Willmar man sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing an elderly woman last summer is now in state

Department of Corrections custody.

Brok Junkermeier, 19, is in the Minnesota Correctional Facility at St. Cloud, according to the department’s website. The prison’s inmate profile information says Junkermeier is one of only four offenders currently at that prison serving life without parole.

Junkermeier received his sentence Wednesday for the July killing of Lila Warwick, 79, at her home on the east edge of Willmar. On April 2, 10 days into his jury trial in Kandiyohi County District Court, he pleaded guilty to first-degree murder.

Junkermeier and Lila Warwick’s grandson Robert Warwick, 18, were both indicted in September. Witnesses in Junkermeier’s trial testified that the teens had planned

the murder months in advance.

Robert Warwick also faces the possibility of life in prison. He is held on $2 million bail in the Kandiyohi County Jail. His next court hearing is April 23.

A third teen charged in the case, Devon Jenkins, 16, of Willmar, received a juvenile sentence after pleading guilty to aiding and abetting second-

degree murder.
