SHIRLEY MAY LEWANDOWSKI
Shirley May Lewandowski, 84, of Duluth passed away March 28, 2014, in Duluth.
Shirley was born September of 1929 in Duluth to Ernest and Margaret Jones. She attended school at Duluth Central High School through the 11th grade. She married Richard Lewandowski in July of 1949 in Duluth. Shirley was employed as a nurses aid at St. Mary's Hospital for six years and has worked for H&R Block as a tax preparer for 53 years.
She enjoyed knitting, traveling, and going to the casino. She also loved to walk and play with her puppy, Penny.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers William and Richard Jones; nephew Scotty Jones; and brother-in-law, Marvin Kellett.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Michael (Linda) of Duluth and David (Cindy) of Conn.; granddaughters Jennifer (David) Strand of Duluth, Joleen (Robert) Lopez of Texas and Nicole Lewandowski of Calif.; grandsons John Lewandowski of Duluth and Corey Lewandowski of Conn.; great-granddaughters Harmony and Chloe Lopez of Texas; her best friend Wallace M. Pfister; sister-in-law Mary Kellett; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her lovely dog, Penny.
VISITATION: 11 a.m. until the noon funeral service Friday, April 4, in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 410 N. Arlington Ave., Duluth, with Rev. Michael DeKraai officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
