Road trips: Fringe Festival features eclectic mix
The next almost two weeks will include a high concentration of theater-style events during the Minnesota Fringe Festival. None of these shows was picked because it is great — but each might be.
The annual event features 160 shows in 11 days at 19 venues in the Twin Cities area. Tickets to shows are $12.
The signature Fringe move, however, is to randomly select what will play during the festival. According to its website, selection is about as scientific as numbered ping pong balls get. Each show is 60 minutes or shorter.
Expect to see shows ranging from an ’80s cinematic classic turned musical, dance incorporating modern and ballet, a story of a gay Thanksgiving party plus space aliens.
A full schedule, tickets, show blurbs and, eventually, audience reviews are available at fringefestival.org.
