Rip current advisory posted for Park Point
A high risk of rip currents has made swimming off of Park Point beaches dangerous, the Duluth Fire Department warned.
At 2 p.m. today, the Fire Department issued a red flag warning to run through 10 a.m. on Sunday. Wave and wind conditions being experienced today can produce rip currents, which are life-threatening to anyone entering the water.
Even experienced swimmers should stay out of the water, the Fire Department said.
Park Point currently has no life guards, but red flags are being flown at several locations along the beach to indicate the dangerous condition.
