KENNEDY

Richard A. Kennedy passed away peacefully April 24, 2014 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He was born in Duluth on August 19, 1945.

He served honorably in the Army in the Vietnam War, where he met his former wife, Thu Kennedy. After the Army, he returned to Duluth for the majority of his life, working on the tug boats and as a night foreman in Super Valu's Bakery (Denfeld and Mount Royal). Later in life, he also co-owned Kennedy's Bar & Lounge in Proctor. He grew up in Duluth and attended East High School. He had a love for the outdoors and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents and Julie Anderson.

He is survived by his children Michael Kennedy, Mary Kennedy, and Donna (John) Glaser; four grandchildren, Brandon Eales, Lindsey Eales, Alexander Glaser and Madison Glaser; three siblings, H. David Kennedy (Claire Seals), Rosemary (Happy) Miller, and Constance (Connie) Miller as well as many nieces and nephews.

We are also thankful for the care and friendship of cousin, Jon Kennedy, as well.

Cremation is being handled by Saxet Funeral Home, Corpus Christi, Texas. A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
