Report lauds local produce gardening efforts
A report released today highlights “good food movements” in the Northland.
It cites efforts such as a farmers market in Lincoln Park, school gardens in Duluth and Grand Marais, and the Ojibwe Garden Program developed by the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
“The Northland is responding to the food system challenge of ‘What must we do differently?’ ” said Jamie Harvie, the institute’s executive director.
The study, available online at isfusa.org, was supported by the Statewide Health Improvement Program.
