Reader's view: Postal Service closures will hurt the economy

Email

This is in response to the July 16 headline, “Postmaster to review closure of mail center.”

The politicians can find money for wars in the Middle East and for illegal aliens crossing our borders, and they can borrow money from China and then give it away to other countries never to be paid back.

We spent a trillion dollars to stimulate the economy. What did it stimulate? Not the post office! Closing mail centers and laying off postal workers will rouse many people in supporting industries to also lose their jobs.

I believe this will cause a rippling effect throughout the economy and provide one more reason to elect pro-business people to public office in November.
