Reader's view: How was Vietnam service relevant to drug story?
Can someone at the News Tribune please explain to me as an honorably discharged, in-country, U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the war in Vietnam how two men being “Vietnam veterans” had anything to do with their illegal activities described in the May 10 story, “Local Vietnam vets admit transporting pot across South Dakota”?
Was it because of a slow news day? Or was this just the liberal media, still to this day, insisting on pointing out that we Vietnam veterans are all crazed drug addicts?
I have yet to read published any reference to my brothers of World War II or Korea being vilified because one of their numbers ever committed a crime.
