Trump touts 'America first' policies in Duluth warehouse




Rauha S. Helin, 95 of Esko, Minn., passed away peacefully in the Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton on Thursday, June 12, 2014.

She was born in Cloquet to Oscar and Jemina (Kleimola) Aho on April 16, 1919.

Rauha grew up on the farm and loved farm life. She graduated from Cloquet High School in 1938 and was united in marriage to Leo Helin on Nov. 9, 1940.

Rauha loved music and since Leo was a musician, there was accordion music every night while he practiced for the Saturday night dances. She would help him plan the music and go to all the dances with him. Rauha had many interests and hobbies. Her favorites were gardening, rug making, sewing and reading. She also loved animals and enjoyed all the family dogs. Rauha also worked for a time at the Arrowhead Creamery in Esko, the Esko Caf, Chun King and Western Electric. She was the caregiver for Leo for many years after he suffered a stroke. Rauha loved her family and spending time with them was her greatest joy!

Rauha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leo; brothers Bill, Carl and Eric; sisters Hilda Ruonala, Esther Ojala, Hilja Erkkila and Olga Seikkula.

She is survived by her daughter Sharon Lee (Tom) Burggraff of Cloquet; son Darryl (Mary) Helin of McGregor; granddaughters Kelly and Michelle Burggraff and great-grandson Kyle Burggraff all of Cloquet; and granddaughter Traci (Bart) Buxton, great-granddaughter Jordan Buxton and great-great-grandson Michael Buxton all of New Mexico; sister-in-law Esther Aho; and many nieces, nephews, and a special friend Carol Granholm.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 until the 11 a.m. memorial service in Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship room. Inurnment will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery. See the family online guest book at
