Proctor coach Jim Savre has one of the top hurdlers in the area in Megan Sundstrom of Proctor (pictured), who was a hair faster than Hermantown’s Britta Savre (Jim’s daughter) at the 2013 LSC meet. The duo finished 1-2 and again will be competing against each other this spring, putting Jim Savre in a tough position – cheer for his athlete or his daughter. As Jim Savre watched the 300-meter hurdles unfold during last year’s Lake Superior Conference track and field meet, the Proctor girls coach was justifiably conflicted as the top two runners pulled away from their competitors and headed for the finish line.
