Power outage affecting parts of West Duluth, Proctor

A power outage in Duluth caused 1,100 customers to be without power Tuesday.

The temporary outage affected Minnesota Power customers in West Duluth and Proctor. It started about 11:30 a.m., according to Minnesota Power’s online outage map. Repair crews were on site during the afternoon.

Power was restored to customers in West Duluth at 12:30 p.m., and customers in Proctor received power about 3 p.m.

“The power outage was due to a feeder lockout,” said Amy Rutledge, Minnesota Power spokeswoman. “We don’t know what caused the feeder to lock out yet.”

Rutledge described a feeder lockout as a “malfunction in electrical service.”
