Poll shows Dayton, Franken with leads over GOP challengers
ST. PAUL — Democratic incumbents Mark Dayton and Al Franken are maintaining roughly the same double-digit leads over their Republican challengers that they had last fall, according to the latest poll from North Carolina-based Public Policy Polling.
The poll, released Tuesday, found Franken leads in the U.S. Senate race over businessman Mike McFadden 49-38 and 50-39 over state Rep. Jim Abeler.
In the gubernatorial race, Dayton leads former House Speaker Kurt Zellers 47-37, Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson and former House Minority Leader Marty Seifert 47-36 and businessman Scott Honour 47-35.
The poll also found President Barack Obama’s approval rating in Minnesota is 44 percent approve and 50 percent disapprove.
Pollsters surveyed 633 registered voters from June 12-15. The margin for error is plus or minus 3.9 percentage points.
