Pedalopolis hosts week of social bike rides

A meditation bike ride? A storytelling-themed ride? A queer picnic crawl?

It appears that Pedalopolis, a crowd-sourced festival of social bike rides, will come pretty darn close to “something for everyone.”

Pedalopolis runs Tuesday through July 20 in the Twin Cities. Organized by Twin Cities BIKEFUN!, it starts with a parade and community barbecue Tuesday and ends July 20, though there’s a closing party on Saturday at Bedlam Lowertown in St. Paul.

A news release calls the Pedalopolis festival “an ever-expanding work in progress.” The deadline for rides to be included in a printed calendar has passed, but rides submitted after the deadline will be featured online. Rides are listed at tcbikefun.org.

Rides include a tour of breweries, a tour of “Overlooked Parks of St. Paul” and the Replacements Ride, which goes to sites frequented by the band or honored in their songs and concludes by toasting all regulars at the CC Club.
