Paul McCartney to perform at Target Field in August

Former Beatle and rock legend Sir Paul McCartney will perform Aug. 2 at Target Field in Minneapolis, officials announced Monday morning.

McCartney also will play a show at the Fargodome in Fargo, N.D., on July 12. Tickets for both shows go on sale April 28.

The shows are part of McCartney's worldwide "Out There" tour; he's currently playing concerts in South America.

McCartney first performed in Minnesota as a member of the Beatles in 1965, the Minnesota Twins reported. He returned to Minneapolis with his band Wings in 1976, and performed solo shows here in 1993 and 2005.

Tickets for the Target Field show will go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday, April 28 at www.twinsbaseball.com.

Tickets for the Fargodome show will go on sale at the same time at www.inforumtix.com.
