Eighth annual United Northern Sportsmen’s Club/Minnesota Deer Hunters Association Youth Outdoor Field Day, for ages 8-17, Saturday on Island Lake. Kids will attend a seminar, shoot a laser shot simulator and several different caliber of rifles and shotguns and archery. A parent/guardian must accompany each child and lunch is provided. 14th annual Gitchi-Gami Trail Bike Ride, Aug. 16 in Gooseberry Falls State Park near Two Harbors. Start time between 9-10:30 a.m. Bike the trail out through Split Rock to Silver Bay and return or turn around anytime for a shorter ride. Go to ggta.org for more details.
