One motorcyclist was killed and a second seriously injured in separate accidents in the Northland on Sunday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Robert L. Berg, 50, of Hill City was fatally injured after he failed to negotiate a curve on westbound Minnesota Highway 232 just east of Palisade. The cycle hit a culvert and Berg was thrown from the bike. The accident was reported shortly after 7 p.m.

Earlier Sunday, Michael T. Wesbur, 47, of St. Michael, Minn., was injured in Lake County when he lost control after his motorcycle hit gravel on Minnesota Highway 1. Wesbur suffered non-life-threatening injures, according to the State Patrol. The accident was reported at

12:22 p.m.
