Officials say morning fire in Virginia is 'suspicious' in nature
Officials say a porch fire early Sunday in the city of Virginia is “suspicious” in nature.
Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at 309½ Sixth Ave. N. in the city of Virginia at 5:57 a.m. Sunday. The fire was confined to an enclosed porch and apparently began when trash near an exterior door was ignited.
No one was injured, and damage is estimated at about $15,000. The fire is considered suspicious and remains under investigation, according to Virginia Interim Fire Marshal Chris Clark.
