Missouri fugitive arrested in Cloquet on multiple sex abuse charges
A Missouri fugitive wanted for 50 felony sex abuse charges was arrested in Cloquet Thursday.
The Andrew County Sheriff’s Office in Missouri contacted the Cloquet Police Department about a fugitive they suspected to be in the area, and after acting on evidence revealed during the investigation, law enforcement officials identified an address where the suspect was believed to be living. At 8:21 a.m., a detective found James Michael Swett near the 500 block of Pinehurst Park Drive, according to a statement from the Cloquet Police Department.
Swett was wanted for 14 counts of first-degree statutory sodomy, 14 counts of child molestation, 14 counts of forcible sodomy, three counts of sex abuse and five counts of sodomy.
Swett was taken into custody without incident. He was booked at the Carlton County Jail, where is being held pending his return back to Andrew County, Cloquet police said.
