Miner named chairman of Minnesota Grocers Association
Patrick Miner of Miner’s Inc., which owns the region’s Super One stores, has been named to a two-year term as chairman of the Minnesota Grocers Association.
Miner assumed the role in late July, replacing Glen Gust of Glen’s Food Center Inc. in Luverne, Minn.
Miner, who grew up in the family grocery business based in Hermantown, is its regional store supervisor, overseeing operations of several Super One stores.
According to the association, Miner’s dedication to a vital retail food industry and to community service will be the cornerstone of his stint as chairman.
“He is a strong advocate for the MGA’s legislative agenda,” said Jamie Pfuhl, MGA president, in a statement. “He has a great understanding of the political process and knows firsthand the value of engagement and letting the voices of the industry be heard.”
He’ll work with industry partners to educate consumers in areas of sustainability, food safety and social responsibility and is committed to promoting careers within the industry, Pfuhl said.
