MEMORABLE MOMENT: Dunaiski, Heifner engagement

Dunaiski, Heifner

Emilee Dunaiski and Christian Heifner plan to be married Aug. 16 on Moose Mountain in Lutsen.

Her parents are Paul and Linda Dunaiski of Duluth. His parents are John and Sandy Heifner of Superior.

The bride, a 2008 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Superior, is employed by Fond du Lac Human Services.

The groom, a 2000 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Superior, is employed at Rob's Custom Cabinetry in Superior.

A family affair

Because both Emilee and Chris come from very close families, Chris thought it would only be right to have all of us involved in the proposal. After asking for permission from Paul and me to marry our daughter, Chris made five large poster board signs with the words Emilee Will You Marry Me on them.

He took her for a walk in Pattison Park, and when they got to the waterfall, we were all hiding on the other side of the river and popped up holding the signs. As soon as she saw the signs, we could hear her scream all the way across the river, and then we were able to watch as he got down on one knee.

The moment was so perfect and we've never seen Emilee so happy.
