Mary C. Brutger, 57, of Duluth passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, May 9, 2014.

Mary was born Nov. 27, 1957 to Jim and Marge Brutger in St. Paul.

She moved with her family to Duluth when she was 10 years old and graduated from East High School.

Mary worked for the Duluth Public Schools with special education for over 20 years and was a member of the Living Word Church. Mary enjoyed designing clothes and accessories for American Girl dolls and doing crafts with family and friends. She also enjoyed reading. She loved her loyal companions Tika and Kia and was an avid animal lover.

Mary was preceded in death by her dear friend JR (Warren) Radtke.

She is survived by her parents, Marge and Jim Brutger of Duluth; brothers, Steve (Linda) Brutger of Ohio, Brian Brutger of Duluth, Joe Brutger of Ohio, Ray (Tammy) Brutger of Duluth; sisters, Diane Brutger of Minneapolis and Peggy (Matt) Haugen of Duluth; nieces, Jennifer (Yared), Emma and Kendra; nephews, Garret (Kara), Chris and Charlie; grandnieces and nephews; and many friends.

A special thanks to Liz for your loving care, Viewcrest staff and St. Lukes Hospice Care for making the last few days of Marys life comfortable.

GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service Saturday, May 24, in Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, 624-5200.
