Man struck, killed by train in northwestern Minnesota

ROOSEVELT, Minn. -- A man was struck by a train and killed late Thursday near Roosevelt, according to the Roseau County Sheriff’s Office.

At 11:15 p.m., the agency received a call that a Canadian National train had struck and killed a pedestrian west of Roosevelt.

The sheriff’s office said it will not identify the man, a Lake of the Woods County resident, until his family has been notified.

The incident is under investigation, and no other details were immediately available.

Roosevelt is on the border of Roseau and Lake of the Woods counties in northwest Minnesota.
