Lorraine E. Crotteau, 86, of Cloquet, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Evergreen Knoll.

She was born Jan. 16, 1928 in Cloquet to Lester and Caroline (Peach) Martin.

Lorraine married Harvey Crotteau on Feb. 2, 1946. They eventually made their home in Iverson, Minn., where they raised three sons. Together they enjoyed traveling, fishing, snowmobiling, and camping. Lorraine also enjoyed embroidering, crocheting, quilting, watching the Minnesota Vikings, cooking, and baking.

Lorraine worked for Stearns Manufacturing in Carlton for 19-1/2 years, retiring in 1994 as plant manager. She attended Sts. Mary & Joseph Catholic Church in Sawyer, and was active with the Ladies' Guild, and was a member of the Nicholson-Sellgren VFW Women's Auxiliary in Carlton.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harvey; sister LaVerne Anderson; and infant granddaughter Allison Crotteau.

She is survived by her sons Gene (Karyn) Crotteau of Toledo, Ohio, Tom (Sandy) Crotteau of Apple Valley, and Randy (Cindy) Crotteau of Sawyer; brothers Edwin (Annie Slocum) Martin, Arthur (Linda Way) Martin, and Ken (Judy) Martin; grandchildren Tim (Jodi) Crotteau, Heidi (Jeff) Zwart, Tara Butler, Kim (Nathan) Miller, Erin (John) Glas, Paul (Alicia) Crotteau, Alanna (Ross) Soukkala, Dean (Alison) Crotteau, and Alexis Crotteau; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Evergreen Knoll for the kind and excellent care given to Lorraine.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014 in Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. The visitation will resume on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service, also in Nelson Funeral Care. Inurnment will be at New Calvary Cemetery. See the family on-line guest book at
