Local connections dot USHL draft

The United States Hockey League wrapped up its two-day draft Tuesday with a busy Phase 2.

And just like Phase 1 on Monday, when Minnesota Duluth recruit Riley Tufte of Blaine High School was the first overall pick, there were plenty of players selected Tuesday with local connections (see the below list for a roundup).

By drafting a player, the team owns that player’s rights if he decides to play in the USHL. The player can decide not to play juniors.
