Lino J. Marana, 95, of Wrenshall, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 at his home.

He was born Dec. 8, 1918 on the family farm in Nickerson, Minn., to Peter and Carolina (Scarmona) Marana.

Lino worked as a farmer until he built and owned the Club 23 Bar in Holyoke from 1948 - 1976. He also worked at Potlatch in Cloquet. Lino's activities had included playing on bowling and pool leagues, and traveling. Lino especially loved to play cards and until his death, he played "Texas Holdem" six days a week.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran in Wrenshall where he had served as usher and trustee.

Lino was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; and two brothers, Carl and Gino Marana.

He is survived by his children, Pat (Richard) Horner and Ron Puckett; one sister, Ida (Fred) Clements; five grandchildren, Bryan, Robyn, Angela, Amy and Todd; five great-grandchildren; and many friends.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. Tuesday April 1, 2014 until the 11 a.m. funeral service in St. John's Lutheran Church in Wrenshall, followed with a luncheon in the church social hall. Arrangements are with Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet. See the family online guest book at
