Juho K. Ojutkangas, 86, of Cloquet, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Essentia Health Care in Duluth.

He was born Aug. 23, 1927 in Lapua, Finland.

He served in the Finnish Military and also farmed. Juho immigrated to the United States in 1961 and was united in marriage to Ailene Heine on June 6, 1964 in Cloquet. He worked for the Potlatch Corp. for 33 years and was a member of the Potlatch Quarter Century Club.

Juho was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and he loved hunting, fishing, camping, skiing, and photography.

Juho was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ailene; one brother; and two sisters.

He is survived by two sons, Perry (Linda) and Tom Ojutkangas; one daughter, Tammy (Jeff) Doran; five grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Cody, Maija, and Brady; one great-grandson, Jedidiah; brothers and a sister in Finland; and numerous nieces and nephews in Finland and the United States.

The family would like to thank the staff at Inter-Faith Care Center and Essentia for the care given to Juho. Special prayers and love from his family in Finland.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 in Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. The visitation will resume on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, followed with a luncheon in the social hall. See the family online guest book at
