Waffle House shooting suspect Travis Reinking arrested, police say



James "Jim" W. Carr, 84, of Cloquet, passed away on Feb. 4, 2014 in Weslaco, Texas.

James was born in Duluth on July 11, 1929.

He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jim returned to Duluth and worked for U.S. Steel until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking and working outdoors. Jim will be remembered fondly for his quick wit, loving and caring nature and his zest for life.

He is preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings and infant son Steven Earl.

James is survived by his loving wife Lois; children, Al (Debbie) and Kathy Planting; grandchildren, Nick (Shizuka), Amy, Kelly (Alex) and Erik; three great-grandchildren, Rylan, Dylan and Sawyer; two sisters, Fern OConnell and Alvina Hinnenkamp as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
