Extremely high water on the lake has caused several chunks of floating bog to break free, and this one threatened to cut off access to the resort on the lake along the U.S.-Canadian border. The houseboats came from Rainy Lake Houseboats. The bog was pushed into Black Bay where it’s hoped it will stay out the way and not cause any damage.

Water levels on the big border lakes in the area have been slowly receding in recent days but remain very high after record rainfall in June. All resorts in the area are open. Photo by Maggie McBride
