Hibbing man injured in car-motorcycle collision
A 65-year-old Hibbing man was critically injured while riding his motorcycle Wednesday when he rear-ended a vehicle that had stopped for a deer.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Mark Long was ejected from his Harley-Davidson just after 5 p.m. in the collision on Minnesota Highway 37 at Tamminen Road, about 11 miles east of Hibbing.
Long was traveling east on Highway 37 when he struck the back of a Pontiac Grand Am driven by a 50-year-old Eveleth man, who was not injured. The car had stopped because of a deer that had been hit but was still on the roadway, the Patrol reported.
Long, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center, the Patrol reported. He was reported in critical condition at the hospital on Thursday.
