UPDATE: No effort to fight Superior refinery fire, evacuations could last days




Henry "Hank" E. Johnson, 70, of Carlton, Minn., and Vilonia, Ark., passed away Aug. 21, 2014.

He was born April 14, 1944, in Hibbing. Hank served in the U.S. Army and worked for MnDOT in Duluth, and as a foreman in Carlton. He was the Wrenshall Volunteer Fire Dept. Chief for 14 years; Charter Commander and life member of AMVETS Post 28 in Carlton, serving as State and District Commander; life-member of American Legion; and a member of the Moose Lodge.

Hank is survived by his wife JoAnn; children Brian, Tammy and Jim; step-children Rocky and Lori; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. See the family online guest book at
