SENIOR LINKAGE LINE
The Senior Linkage Line seeks volunteer health insurance counselors to assist seniors and help individuals make informed decisions about Medicare and other health insurance coverage, complete necessary forms and connect them with available resources. Volunteers should have compassion for seniors and be willing to work with a wide range of people. You will attend an initial 18-hour training to become certified as a State Health Insurance Program Counselor. After the training Senior Linkage Line seeks a one-year minimum time commitment to the program and four hours of service per month as needed.

Learn about domestic violence and help women and children in domestic violence situations seeking support at Safe Haven. Volunteers are needed to provide child care and activities for children; complete intake paperwork with clients and schedule appointments with service providers; and to serve as receptionist and answer the telephone and provide support for staff and clients. A two-hour commitment between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday is required.Safe Haven volunteers are required to complete an online application at safehavenshelter.org, as well as a three-hour basic train-ing/orientation before starting volunteer work. CAUSEWAY MENTORING PROGRAM
The Bayfield County Causeway Mentoring Program seeks positive, caring adult volunteers to mentor youths ages 14 to 17. Ideal candidates will be able to commit to weekly contact (two hours a week) with youths for a minimum of one year. Volunteer mentors develop and maintain a relationship and participate in recreational, cultural, educational and community service activities with youths. Volunteer trainings, monthly group activities and ongoing support are provided. LUTHERAN SOCIAL SERVICE
Lutheran Social Service seeks volunteers for the following opportuni-ties.
- Senior companions: Volunteers are needed for 15 (flexible) hours per week to assist others in maintaining the highest level of dignity and independent living possible by visiting homebound/isolated adults, assisting with vital services such as appointments and gro-cery shopping, and acting as a caring friend. - Caregiver respite volunteer: Seeking vol-unteers to provide in-home companionship, a safe environment and informal, nonmedical care for an elderly or disabled adult in order to give the primary care-giver temporary relief from the responsibilities of caregiving.
