Helen Elizabeth Anderson, 91, of Duluth, passed away March 26, 2014, at her home with her family at her side.

Helen was born in May of 1922 in Duluth to Rudolph and Lillian Brune.

She attended and graduated from Denfeld High School in 1940. Helen worked for Miller Dwan Hospital and the Western Paint Factory during World War II. She married George Loren Anderson June 15, 1946 in Redeemer Lutheran Church in Duluth. She was a homemaker who along with George raised nine children. She was active in Christ The King Lutheran Church ladies aid and was an accomplished gardener.

She was preceded in death by her husband George; daughter Kim Niemi; her parents; brother Howard Brune; sisters, Harriet Mattson and Dixie Anderson.

Helen is survived by her children Linda (Jack) Baker, Loren (Kathy), Roy (Jean), Alan (Pam Wesley), Don (Kandy), Larry (Joanie Passe), Chris (Juanita), and Gary (Jill Schubert); 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; one sister Bea Brune; son-in-law Errol Niemi; brother-in-law Lester Anderson; and Godchild Laurie Jean Waint.

The family would like to thank the staff of St. Luke's Hospice, HomeInStead, and the Student Nurses from St. Scholastica for the wonderful care provided in the home.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service on Monday, March 31 in Redeemer Lutheran Church, 9503 Grand Ave., Duluth with Rev. Joel Brutlag officiating. A lunch will be served after the service. Entombment will be at Sunrise Memorial Park.
