Health notes: Made some healthy changes? You could win an award
If you or a friend recently has shed a few pounds or made other healthy lifestyle changes, the American Heart Association wants to hear about it.
The association is seeking nominations for its Lifestyle Change Award, which recognizes people who have improved their health and quality of life within the past year by making better choices or overcoming obstacles related to health and fitness.
Finalists will be chosen based on the significance of the changes they made, the obstacles they were able to overcome and the influence the positive changes have had on their lives and the people around them.
This year’s winner will be announced Sept. 20 at the Northland Heart Walk fundraiser at the Lake Superior Zoo.
To make a nomination, visit heart.org/duluth and submit an application by Aug. 25. Submissions should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or faxed to (952) 835-5828.
